The South African Dance Teachers Association (SADTA) ballroom and Latin competition is excited to introduce a new section tailored to enhance the experience of both newcomers and seasoned dancers. This new categorization, divided into Beginner Social/Casual and Experienced Social/Casual, ensures that participants compete at their appropriate skill levels, making the competition more enjoyable and fair for everyone.
For those new to dancing, the Beginner Social/Casual category includes the Waltz/Rhythm Fox and ChaCha/Jive or Swing. These dances are selected for their basic rhythms and simple steps, allowing beginners to showcase their growing skills in a supportive environment. Whether you’ve just started learning or have only danced socially, this category provides an excellent platform to gain confidence and experience the thrill of competition.
On the other hand, the Experienced Social/Casual category is designed for dancers who have competed before and are ready for more challenging routines. This category includes the Waltz/Quickstep and ChaCha/Jive, which require a higher level of technique and precision. Experienced dancers can push their limits and demonstrate their refined skills in these dynamic and energetic dances.
Whether you’re a beginner or have some competition experience, these new sections ensure that everyone can participate and enjoy the art of ballroom and Latin dancing at their own level.
